Visa processing times
The Consulate General of the Russian Federation in the Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR, PRC, reviews your visa application and decides whether to issue you a visa within a period of 5 working days, after having received all the necessary documents and received payment in full.
Under certain circumstances this period may be altered at the discretion of the Consulate.
In extreme emergencies which require urgent passage to the Russian Federation, the applicant may petition the Consulate to review his materials in an expedited manner, thus reducing the processing time substantially to 3 business days or less. In such situations, the decision to issue an emergency visa is made either by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation, and either the Ambassador or the Consul General of the Russian Federation.
Likewise, in special circumstances the consulate has the right to review submitted documents for up to 30 days.
Consular and visa processing fees must be paid in full upon applying for a Russian Visa through the Russian Visa Centre.
The consular fee is applied to the Consular Division for the review and issuance of your documents. Consular fees may vary depending on the visa category, its type and number of entries; they may also differ based on the nationality of the applicant.
The visa processing fee covers the cost of the Russian Visa Centre (PRO VISA) for accepting the documents, checking them for errors and/or missing information, submitting the application in-person to the Consulate, and issuing the documents back to the applicant.
Payment is accepted in the form of a Money Order or Cashiers Check payable to “PRO VISA COURIER LIMITED”, for those applying in person, cash is also accepted.
In the case of outright denial of your application (not fixable errors) by the Russian Consulate, the Consular Fee and the Visa Processing Fee's are non-refundable.
